Pathological, Microbiological and Sharps Waste
Pathological waste is any type of waste, such as human or animal bedding that might contain blood or bodily fluids. This could also be a hard container, such as a vial. Microbiological waste can be found in residential care or hospital settings; it might include cultures or specimens. Finally, sharps are used needles that may have living pathogens on them, posing a further risk to others.
